What's the significance of Membership?
As Christians, we are members of God's household, called to function, participate, and serve in a particular place within the body of Christ. A healthy body requires that each member do its part well. A healthy church requires the same: members that are sacrificially committed and well-equipped to do the works of service that God has prepared in advance for us to do. Second Mile Church holds its members in high regard. Members function as the primary ambassadors of Jesus to the culture.
*Note: Membership is required for some leadership positions in the church, including leading a Community Group and other shepherding and teaching roles.

http://secondmilechurch.wufoo.com/forms/membership-interview-application-form/
5. After your application is received, a pastor will contact you to set up an interview. This interview is not a test or an overly formal meeting that you should be scared or intimidated about. Rather, it is an opportunity for you to discuss your partnership in this ministry and receive any necessary spiritual direction or care. Please bring the following things to your interview:
a) Your completed Membership Packet with blanks filled in
b) A printout of the results from your online Spiritual Gifts Assessment
c) Your Membership Covenant
6. Affirm our doctrine and the expectations of membership (namely, community participation and giving) and sign the Member Covenant (this can be done after the interview).
